The HB Festival Guide 2008

This summer, HeadBang aims to give you, our readers small and useful useful look at the European and British festival scene.

Not only will we be covering the obvious matter of the bands, but almost more importantly those things that really matter to the rock and metal fan who’s shelled out more than a hundred quid to get to this festival. Things like organisation, facilities, security, fan appreciation and campsites. This is especially important because if you can only afford one European festival a year you’d rather go to the one with the best overall atmosphere seeing as most European festivals share headliners.

By doing this, we hope to be able to help you make a decision about where to spend your hard earned cash next year if you’re looking for the best value for your money and the best places to have a headbanging time.

The summer festivals are, perhaps, the highlight of the metal calender. Not only is it a chance to see all your favourite bands in one place, but also a chance to meet new people, enjoy the best of the British weather, and let's face, it completely wasted.

We present to you, therefore, the selection of the best festivals across Europe, and for those of you not wanting to leave the country, the festivals a little closer to home. Whether you're a festival fanatic, or preparing to lose your festival virginity, this year you really will be spoilt for choice!

So read this guide, take note of our festival survival tips, and relax as you let HeadBang walk you through your summer!
